Megacraft is the manufacturer magnetostrictive linear motion position sensors. The product involves a contactless technology which has been integrated into 2 aluminium housings. Linosense sensors use potentiometer technology. They are easy to interface and suitable for most linear motion measurements. These products can not withstand heavy shock, vibration, oscillations because the wiper then looses contact. Magnetostrictive sensors avoid such problems by interaction of 2 magnetic fields. One field is generated by a magnet, which moves along the outside oft he sensor tube but inside of t he housing, the other field comes from a current pulse.
